| Multi-Use Trail Several miles of natural trail within Broemmelsiek Park is open of hiking, biking, and equestrian use. More than four miles of trail (crossing wooded hillsides, open pasture, and scenic views) are currently open to the public. Additional trail will be added with future development. Users are asked to follow the posted trail regulations regarding use and upkeep. Occasionally, due to inclement weather, the Parks Department is forced to close its natural-surface trails to bicyclists and horses in order to protect them from damage. | Fishing Lakes Throughout the park are designated fishing lakes that are stocked with bluegill, bass, and catfish. In addition to the five-acre lake that is now open along the Wilson Road portion of the park will be the 13-acre Betty's Lake that opens in future development. Fishing within the park is governed by the rules and regulations of the Missouri Department of Conservation. Off-Leash Dog Area The 2.5-acre Off-Leash Dog Area at Broemmelsiek Park features a covered shelter, a grove of shade trees, and a small pond for water entertainment. Owners and pets must comply with all posted rules when using the park. Occasionally, due to inclement weather, the Parks Department is forced to close its dog parks in order to protect them from damage. Astronomy Viewing Area With its remote setting and limited light pollution, Broemmelsiek Park offers a wonderful opportunity to view the night skies. The park's astronomy viewing site offers ten concrete viewing stations equipped with electrical service to accommodate the latest telescopes. The site is open on a first-come, first-served basis and serves as the primary location for the Department's monthly "Stars of St. Charles" viewing sessions.
